Wondering “How can I get rid of dark circles?” You’re not alone!

Have you ever thought, “How can I get rid of dark circles?” Removing dark under-eye circles is one of the most discussed skincare topics. Dark or shaded skin underneath the eyes is a condition that many people suffer from, and one that even more people seem to have an opinion.

We’ve all stood in the mirror and thought to ourselves, “Wow, I look tired,”  or “I look sick,” even if we’re feeling healthy. The likely culprit – we notice bags under our eyes. Those dark, puffy circles that cue everyone to believe we haven’t slept in days. Maybe it’s true. Maybe your sleep is lacking, or your stress has skyrocketed. It’s likely that the first thing you’ll do after realizing your eyes look dark and puffy is reach for your makeup bag. We’re here to tell you that you no longer need to do that.

How do dark under-eye circles form?

There are many reasons why a person can appear to have dark circles under his or her eyes. Often dark circles are caused by heredity, age, mental and physical stress, lack of sleep, allergies, dry skin, prolonged crying, and even an unhealthy diet. In reality, many of these reasons are likely to be a contributor to dark under-eye circles. In fact, you could be suffering from a few of this conditions at once. As the skin underneath your eyes is so thin, it’s susceptible to many changes in its environment.

How can I get rid of dark circles?

Is there an immediate remedy for the bags under your eyes? Unfortunately, no. If there were, everyone would be doing it, and no one would be talking about how to remove dark circles. There are many natural options you can try to lighten the appearance of under-eye bags, though these may not work for everyone. Also, if these remedies work for you, consider the treatment temporary.

  • Sunscreen: As the skin underneath your eyes is so thin, it’s more susceptible to sun-induced hyperpigmentation. By applying sunscreen to your face every day, you’ll help prevent any further changes in your under-eye color. If you plan on spending a lot of time in the sun, don’t forget to reapply!
  • Get control of allergies: Histamines released by your immune system if you have allergies can cause swelling and broken capillaries under the eyes. Consult your doctor for a prescription or to recommend an over-the-counter allergy medication to take during allergy season. If you are suffering from allergies – or a sinus cold – try not to rub your eyes, as this will do even more damage to your fragile skin.
  • Wash your face with cool water: Did you know that hot water can actually accentuate the dark circles under your eyes? Washing your face with cool water every day will prevent puffiness in the skin underneath your eyes.
  • Apply a cold compress: For a very temporary pick-me-up after a late night at the office or being awake with a screaming baby, apply a cold or frozen compress for a few minutes at a time on your eyes. This will decrease the puffiness and discoloration caused by lack of sleep.
  • Add another pillow to your bed: If you’re suffering from vascular problems, you might have more blood draining to spots on your body, specifically underneath your eye. It will pool to this area when you are in a laying position, so be sure to raise your head by increasing the amount of pillows you sleep with.

There must be a long-term solution to dark circles under your eyes

While many of the remedies mentioned above can help temporarily, they’ll still likely lead you to grab your makeup bag in order to camouflage your dark circles. Many of our customers expressed frustration with how much concealer, foundation, and skin care products they were purchasing just to maintain a healthy appearance.

It wasn’t until they used the Uplifting Beauty micro-current machine that they noticed a long-term change in their complexion. Their under-eye dark circles were gone. In fact, most of our loyal customers have reported to completely eliminating makeup from their skin care routine. And don’t just take our word from it, here’s what Uplifting Beauty user Luanne Breese says:

As a busy working mother, special needs teacher and doctoral candidate, I don’t have the luxury of enough rest to keep my skin free from the dark circles that develop. After utilizing the Uplifting Beauty micro-current machine, I have eliminated the need for concealer and foundation to hide the darkness that appeared under my eyes.

It’s time for you to take charge of your skin. Stop investing all your hard-earned money in new makeup products, and invest in a long-term system for healing and showcasing your skin. We want you to let your beauty stand out, because you deserve it.
